Together with Prof Philip Bond and members of the UK Foresight Team, Jean-Pierre Zigrand visited the National Academies of Sciences on March 7th 2013 to present the Foresight work on the Future of Computer Trading and to explore common research interests in the study of systemic risk between the Systemic Risk Centre and The National Academy of Sciences. The National Research Council of the National Academies has been engaging with researchers for a number of years in order to better understand systemic risk and has published on “New Directions for Understanding Systemic Risk” as early as 2007 and on “Technical Capabilities Necessary for Systemic Risk Regulation” in 2010. We thank Scott Weidman and Jon Eisenberg for their hospitality and hope to engage in common projects along those lines.
